日本の大学に進学する留学生の場合、帰国生入試では高いIELTSやTOEFLのスコアが求められています。慶応、早稲田、上智、国際基督教（ICU）などの国際教養・グローバル系学部では、IELTSで6.5以上（9点満点）、TOEFL iBTで90点以上（120点満点）の成績であることが基準だとも言われています。
IELTS（アイエルツ）は、英語4技能を評価する国際的な英語能力試験で、試験時間は約2時間45分。
リーディング、ライティング、スピーキング、リスニングの4技能において、実践的な理解力と運用力が求められます。
カナダに留学していても、普通に生活しているだけではIELTSの点数に反映される英語力は身につきません。志望大学を目指し、早めにスタートを切ることが重要です。
